The city is the only party that can appeal. I don't think the city is going to want to appeal. It's going to cost them a ton of money for their time and effort.

I certainly expected this result. The law demanded this result.

By sheer coincidence, Morris Dees was in San Diego working on the Tom Metzger case, ... I heard he was in the same office building where I was working. I wanted to introduce myself to him, so I strolled down and said hello. I told him, 'I know this is a Portland case, but if you need any help in San Diego, let me know.'

This is like hiring the Ku Klux Klan to represent you in a desegregation case,

The taxpayers should be fairly incensed that their money is going to be put in my pocket. ... It's just absolutely irresponsible to throw the taxpayers' money away.

I think they've acknowledged this is the last chance to save the cross, ... And when the court tells them this is not going to work, what else have they got?

I thought the decision was kind of obvious.
